We are recruiting for a Director of Corporate Services-Deputy Treasurer. This is a full-time position.

The County of Renfrew, an upper tier municipal government, is searching for a strategic individual to lead the corporate services department. This department includes its four main divisions: finance, human resources, information technology, and provincial offences administration.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Corporate Services-Deputy Treasurer has the overall management and direction of the county’s corporate services group. The Director ensures that effective and efficient corporate services and resources are in place to support the plans and strategic priorities of the entire organization and its operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote the county’s mission and values.
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with staff, administration, council, and the public.
  • Prepare and present recommendations to the finance and administration committee and county council concerning administrative and operational issues.
  • Responsible for the design and management of the department’s divisions.
Qualifications
  • University degree with a focus on business or public administration.
  • Professional designation in accounting and/or human resources would be considered an asset.
  • Five to ten years of management experience in the private or public sector.
  • Education in municipal government, particularly AMCTO training, would be an asset.
  • A forward thinker who can manage day-to-day operations while identifying opportunities and developing strategies and plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, supervising, motivating, coaching, and holding accountable, a team of professionals, while supporting employee engagement and development.
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal skills to interact with senior government officials, management staff, and members of the public.
  • Computer literacy is required.
