North American Sawmills Machinery was established in 1977 to fabricate sawmill machinery and parts. The business also handled steel distribution. Today, the business continues and has expanded beyond the sawmill industry alone, fabricating and repairing parts for a variety of businesses with specific machining needs including farms, trucking companies and airports.

We were started by Ben Hokum Jr. and are located on the Ben Hokum & Son Limited property in Killaloe.

We are currently recruiting for a Machine Shop Assistant. This is a full-time position.

Job Duties:

  • Material handling
  • Basic fabrication
  • Metal cutting and bending
  • Welding and drilling
  • Clean up

Note: Advancement opportunity may include some manual machining and machine grinding, depending on your skillset

Qualifications
  • Safely operate manual power tools
  • Ability to use basic measuring tools and perform simple calculations
  • Comfortable with reading dimensional orders and drawings
  • Familiarity with safety procedures in a machine shop environment
  • Physical ability to lift and handle materials
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience is an asset
Additional Information

Wage is based on experience.

We provide a safety allowance, tool allowance, benefits package and pension.
