Lanark County is recruiting for a Snow Plow Operator-Labourer. This position is 40 hours weekly working Monday to Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm (subject to change).

The Snow Plow Operator-Labouer will operate vehicles, equipment and tools to maintain county roads and bridges.

Qualifications
  • Valid Ontario Class D licence with Z air brake endorsement with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Minimum Grade 10 with 1-2 years related progressive experience operating trucks.
  • Successful completion of the heavy equipment operator course is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of Highway Traffic Act Regulation 575 (Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections) and Regulation 555 (Hours of Service).
  • Able to safely and skillfully operate a front-end loader and snow plowing with a tandem truck plow and wing combination.
  • Municipal work experience is considered an asset. 
  • Must be able to read industry guidelines. 
  • Effective written, verbal and listening, communication skills. 
  • Must have initiative and be capable of working with a minimum of supervision.
  • Flexible work hours (able to work outside of normal hours).
Additional Information

This position is evaluated at Level 6 ($26.22-$30.12 per hour) on the 2024 OPSEU salary grid. The start date is to be determined. Winter hours are Sunday evening 7:30 pm until Friday morning 4:00 am as per Collective Agreement Articles 21.04 & 21.05). Overtime will be required.
