The Town of Petawawa is the largest community in Renfrew County with more than 17,000 residents. Located along the Ottawa River, the municipality is home to Canada's largest army base. Hosting festivals, events and programming year-round, Petawawa is an active community with recreation and culture programs for residents and visitors alike.

The Town of Petawawa is currently seeking a detail-oriented individual for the full-time role of Accounting Clerk.

Reporting to the Treasurer, the Accounting Clerk will maintain the capital assets registry and provide general accounting and administrative support. Duties will include updating asset management records, accounts payable and receivable data entry, preparing bank reconciliations, and backup support of payroll and counter reception.

Detailed Job Description

• Applicants must possess at a minimum an accounting or business administration community college diploma or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
• A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a municipal government setting is a definite asset.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Compensation is based on qualifications and experience. The town offers an excellent benefits package.
