Currently, the City of Belleville has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, strategic, and dynamic individual to join our Transportation and Operations Services Department as a Traffic Technician. Purpose & Scope The role of the Traffic Technician is to maintain and oversee the functioning and installation from design to construction of the traffic light and streetlight systems within the city. This role collaborates and works with public works personnel and sub-contractors in the construction, installation, maintenance, repair and operation of traffic signal an dstreetlight systems. The position will develop and schedule work priorities including 24 hours a day emergency repair to ensure proper signal function. The position will investigate and communicate with suppliers of traffic control equipment and recommend various innovations and improvements to the traffic infrastructure to the City Engineer and Operations (Traffic) Supervisor.
