Maltby Centre is the lead regional agency for Mental Health and Autism Services, with an experienced and compassionate team of professionals who provide high-quality, community-based health and support services to children and youth in Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington (KFL&A). Established in 1996 and formerly known as Pathways for Children & Youth, Maltby Centre is a registered charity and not-for-profit funded in part by the Ontario government. Through the work of over 120 dedicated staff, Maltby Centre is creating possibilities for change in young lives.

We are currently recruiting for an Executive Director.

Based out of Kingston, Ontario, the Executive Director of Maltby Centre provides stewardship to the agency to ensure the organization’s vision, mission and values are achieved. Reporting to the board of directors, the Executive Director will provide strong organizational leadership to the agency, and advise on matters of service policy, quality, evaluation and risk, and financial and human resources. The Executive Director will lead the development, communication, implementation and evaluation of the organization’s strategic plan, ensuring quality is entrenched in services, policies and procedures.

The Executive Director will cultivate an engaged and transparent organizational culture, leading unionized and non-unionized teams across the Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington regions. As Maltby Centre’s representative within the broader health and allied services community, the Executive Director will have the opportunity to lead, promote, develop, and sustain effective partnerships with individuals, agencies, external groups, the province and with ministry representatives, as required, in support of their mission.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years of experience as a senior leader within health agencies, social services or other not-for-profit organizations, as well as prior experience in an Executive Director or CEO role working closely with a volunteer board of directors. They will possess a Master’s degree in social work, nursing, health or business administration, or a related field. The next Executive Director will bring a demonstrated style of leadership that models staff empowerment, fosters cross-functional collaboration, staff recognition, and is an effective mentor. They will bring strength in labour relations management and in leadership of unionized teams.

The ideal candidate will champion a commitment to a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, with deep experience in the development and execution of strategic organizational plans. As the chief spokesperson for Maltby Centre, the successful candidate will possess exceptional communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated achievement through innovative solution-seeking. French language proficiency (written and verbal) will be considered an asset.
