ParaMed Home Health Care is recruiting for a Human Resources Administrator (Onboarding Partner). This is a full-time position in Cornwall.

The Onboarding Partner provides local human resources expertise to a district. This includes full cycle employee onboarding, retention and off-boarding and supports local management with respect to benefits and support to reporting clinical supervisors as needed for disability management. This position also includes coordinating local human resources programs such as onboarding (orientation) and new employee on-boarding, and as acting as the main contact for branch employees on day-to-day employment matters. These include employment letters, Service Canada requests, labour-management requests with support of human resources business partner in the region for all LR/HR related issues.

Key Accountabilities

  • Process new hire paperwork including capturing results for criminal background checks, vulnerable sector results, medical result requests such as TB within 30 days of hire if not received at the time of orientation.
  • Coordinates and conducts general onboarding for new hires day one within the people and culture portion of the onboarding agenda and checklist.
  • Administers payroll and benefits paperwork for new and existing employees.
  • Abide by human resources policies according to union collective agreements, company
  • policies and provincial and federal legislation including Employment Standards Act among others.
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for, changes in status, leaves, and benefits.
  • Researches, identifies and analyzes specific employee relations concerns under the direction of management and or people and culture business partner.
  • Provides exit interview and inputs into the exit data survey and ensures the employee is off-boarded and employee file complete.
  • Supports management in the presentation of in-services and general training to client group about general and specific human resources issues, policies, procedures, and documentation
  • General administration support as needed.
  • Administers payroll and benefits paperwork for new and existing employees
  • Competent working knowledge of human resources (I.e. recruitment and selection, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development and applicable legislation including Employment Standards Act, human rights and WSIB.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a human resource role and or enrolled in a certificate program
  • Experience in health care preferred, familiar with unions and collective agreements
  • Valid driver's licence, own vehicle and appropriate insurance
  • Adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and ParaMed occupational health and safety policies within all district offices
  • Support reporting supervisor with filing, submission of accident investigations for WSIB.
  • Participate in mask fit testing of new hires

Working Conditions

  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment
  • Travel may be required
  • Driving and physical demands associated with management positions (sitting, standing, stair climbing and walking)
  • Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
