The Brockville and District Association for Community Involvement (BDACI)is a non-profit, charitable organization founded by family members in 1956, to work with and on behalf of children and adults who are identified as having an intellectual disability along with their families.
We believe that all people should live in a state of dignity, share in all elements of living in the community and have the opportunity to participate effectively. We also believe that communities, families and government share in the responsibility of supporting and including citizens with an intellectual disability.
We are currently recruiting for Support Workers. There are part-time (24 hours per week) and full-time (35 hours per week) positions available.
Support Workers will work directly with an individual with an intellectual disability to maintain and enhance their presence and participation in community life, by applying the principle of social role valorization. The Support Worker will also carry out the necessary personal care routines and maintain a person’s health and safety. The support worker will develop a supportive, respectful relationship with the individual, his/her family and/or support circle.
