Madawaska Valley Association for Community Living (MVACL) is looking for employees who want to share in our mission: Working together to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities.

We are currently recruiting for Human Service Workers. There are part-time and summer positions available. We offer a minimum of 22.5 hours per week to start with the opportunity to pick up additional hours.

Human Service Workers work directly with and on behalf of people who have an intellectual disability, assisting them to articulate and achieve their personal outcomes. He or she will support people with personal growth, assist them to participate in the community, and help them to enhance their quality of life.

  • Post-secondary diploma in the field of Human Services (i.e. Developmental Services Worker, Social Service Worker, Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker, Nursing) or related education and experience
  • Minimum grade 12 diploma with relevant experience in a direct support human service role is an asset
  • Valid class G license
  • Current Emergency First Aid Level C and CPR certification
  • Current CPI certification
  • Current Criminal Reference Check or Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication

We provide service to vulnerable people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Our shifts include days, evenings, overnights and weekends. Our environment is unionized and our wages are competitive.
