The Cornwall Community Hospital Clinical Nursing Unit is recruiting for a Professional Practice Manager. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Summary of responsibilities

The Manager, Professional Practice will establish, foster and maintain a corporate collaborative practice environment by providing professional leadership, structures, and processes for the advancement of professional practice and education within a unit management structure including clinical standards for professional practice.

  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent people, time management, conflict management, financial management and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands and expectations
  • Experience with the implementation of an electronic health records system
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, problem-solve and make recommendations for change and implement and evaluate
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize own work and that of others
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaborative practice and lifelong learning
  • 5 years of experience in nursing
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of collective agreements and experience working in a unionized environment
  • Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)
  • Functional proficiency in oral French is an asset
