Cornwall Community Hospital is currently recruiting for a Clinical Manager, Surgery and Ambulatory Care Services. This is a full-time position.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the nursing staff and interdisciplinary team, plans, coordinates, directs, and controls the activities of the med/surg program to ensure efficient and effective delivery of care.
  • Develops, creates and implements clinical policies for the unit.
  • Responsible for managing staff and budget.
  • Takes measures to ensure proper utilization of the service.


  • Bachelor of Science in nursing or other health-related degree
  • Hold a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Experience in labour management
  • Recent, related clinical experience
  • Nursing supervisory or management experience
  • Experience with working with interprofessional health care teams
  • Excellent people, time management, conflict management, financial management and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands and expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, problem solve and make recommendations for change and implement and evaluate
  • Working knowledge of quality-based procedures and best practice guidelines relevant to surgery and required organizational practices as defined by Accreditation Canada
  • Strong advocate for patient centred care
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
  • Knowledge of collective agreements and experience working in a unionized environment
  • Functional level in English (oral and written)


  • Functional level in oral French
  • Previous work history of working in an environment with an electronic health record
