Almonte General Hospital and Carleton Place & District Memorial Hospital created the Mississippi River Health Alliance (MRHA) in 2016 to formalize their commitment to work together to improve each patient and resident’s overall health care experience through a strong, coordinated system of care. Each hospital remains a separate corporation with its own board of directors and foundation. An integrated senior team leads the two hospitals, as well as Fairview Manor and Lanark County Paramedic Service which are operating divisions of AGH. Over 600 caring staff, physicians and midwives provide excellent primary, acute and long-term care to
citizens of Lanark County, West Ottawa and Renfrew County.

The Food Services Worker reports to the Manager of Food Services. Internally the classification works with the hospital staff and patients regarding meal delivery and with the maintenance department regarding repairs of equipment. Externally the classification works with service and repair specialists, food and health inspectors and delivery personnel as required.

Qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Grade 12.
  • Basic food handlers course.
  • Six months recent experience in food services in an institutional setting.
  • Ability to perform the duties of a food services worker.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be flexible with hours of work.
  • Able to wokr shift and weekend work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a basic chef’s course and a journeyman cook’s certificate.
