Arnprior Aerospace Inc. combines facilities from Canada, the United States and Mexico to develop and manufacture aerospace structure and components for North America’s largest aerospace companies. We are located in Arnprior, Ontario, less than 30 minutes west of Ottawa-Kanata.

We are currently recruiting for an Industrial Environmental Engineer.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Track government EHS regulations and provide management updates for compliance
  • Lead and manage facility health and safety activities
  • Develop and implement EHS programs ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and meeting company EHS requirements
  • Train employees on released EHS procedures
  • Conduct hazard assessments and advise on appropriate PPE requirements
  • Manage hazardous waste program including classification, registration, inventory, regular inspections, and manifesting for shipments
  • Maintain industrial hygiene monitoring programs such as noise surveys, air sampling, and indoor air quality
  • Provide oversight of air emissions tracking, hazardous waste program, wastewater discharges and Toxics Reduction government reporting to maintain compliance
  • Provide new employee health and safety orientations and develop materials for these presentations
  • Investigate and advise on projects for adequate systems and other conditions that could affect employee health, comfort, performance and environmental implications
  • Investigate and advise on health-related complaints
  • Evaluate workplace environment, equipment, and practices, to ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental standards, ergonomic standards and government regulations
  • Generate corrective actions and follow-up to completion; prepare report out on evaluations
  • Lead hazmat emergency response team

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Computer skills: proficiency in using common word, spreadsheet, project and presentation software as well as email, contact management and scheduling software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or management systems, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in field and professional certificate of environmental and occupational health and safety

Additional Experience and Qualifications:

  • Chemical laboratory experience
  • Manufacturing experience (preferably aerospace)
  • Established track record of success in EHS
  • Toxics Reduction Planner certificate
  • Experience with government EHS regulations
  • Certificate for Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG certificate) for both ground and air shipments
Additional Information
