Building and Planning Assistant

Located within the rolling hills of Northumberland County and bordered by Lake Ontario in the South and Rice Lake in the North, the Township of Alnwick-Haldimand is seeking a Building and Planning Assistant.This is a full-time position.

Reporting to the Chief Building Official, By-Law Officer, and the Municipal Planner, the Building and Planning Assistant is responsible for assisting the Chief Building Official and Municipal Planner with various administrative functions.

• College diploma in business administration or another related field.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the field of building and/or planning, preferably in a municipal environment;
• Knowledge of applicable legislation including, but not limited to the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Planning Act, and municipal zoning by-laws.

The 2021 salary grid range is $54,743.00 to $64,042.00, as well as a competitive benefits package.
