Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) is a rural hospital located in Alexandria, Ontario, that provides quality primary inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as our General Accountant II.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of accounting tasks to assist the Vice President of Support Services and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and hospital policies and procedures.

  • College diploma in accounting
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical accounting experience, previous experience in a healthcare setting is an asset
  • Recent relevant experience in an accounting capacity
  • Experience in processing payroll and accounts payable
  • Knowledge and experience of Accounts payables and payroll duties
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computer accounting software systems
  • Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and the ability to prioritize workload
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated discretion and a high degree of confidentiality
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is mandatory
