With over 20 years experience, Bradford Construction Ltd. has been established as a leading provider of construction and construction management services within the industrial, commercial, and institutional building sector of Ottawa.

We are currently seeking an Accounting Coordinator for a full-time, maternity leave contract position with an anticipated start date of late November or early December 2018.

Reporting directly to the Comptroller, the Accounting Coordinator will be responsible for performing all duties and tasks involved in the full accounts receivable and payable cycle, filing, and assisting with other administrative tasks and projects as required.

Major Responsibilities:

Work shall include but not necessarily be limited to the following:

  • Verify, code, post and process payment for various invoices, maintaining accurate records in accordance with company and project contract practices and policies;
  • Reads and understands project related owner contracts and subcontractor documentation to ensure project set up procedures are aligned with payment terms and conditions;
  • Collects, reconciles, seeks approval from project managers, and processes all project related subcontractor payments and general expenditures in a timely and accurate manner in order to meet all contract payment terms;
  • Assembles client billing packages in accordance with approval procedures and to ensure the client is in receipt of billings on a timely basis and payments are received as per contract terms and conditions;
  • Liaise with client, consultants, project managers, and subcontractors regarding invoices and payments, verify the accuracy of information and follow up regarding discrepancies and approvals;
  • Ensure established process and policy is adhered to, reporting any discrepancies to the comptroller;
  • Process employee expenses on a regular basis, ensure accuracy and integrity of information and follow up with staff regarding documentation and approvals;
  • Assist comptroller as required with the month-end close and year-end processes;
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • The candidate will possess an above average attention to detail and organizational skills, positive attitude and willingness to learn and excel;
  • Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously;
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision;
  • Proficient use of computer applications (Excel, Sage, Gmail);
  • Strong written and oral communication, and teamwork skills;
  • Experience with construction industry progress draws and construction management processes;
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or related experience an asset.
